Metic Group Plc Completes First Major Contracts

Metic Group Plc - the Dublin based building systems and products group - is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Space Decks Systems Ltd, has completed two large-scale projects: the Grand Arcade shopping centre in Cambridge and the Victoria Square shopping centre in Belfast.

For the Grand Arcade, Space Decks built the three main feature glass roofs and also completed the entire specialist façade glazing. The £3.6m contract was awarded by Grosvenor, the privately owned group of international property development, investment and fund management businesses. The completed shopping centre opened for business on the 27th of March2008.

For the Victoria Square shopping centre, Space Decks built the central feature glazed dome as well as two large mall glazed roof structures to complete the £4m contract awarded by Multi Development UK, the subsidiary of Multi Corporation, a leading property company in Europe. The opening ceremony of Victoria Square took place on the 6th of March 2008 and was lead by the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Ian Paisley, and Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness.

Space Decks was recently acquired by Metic Group Plc along with Melayway Glass Assemblies Ltd as part of Metic's aim of establishing a dynamic European specialist building systems business in the UK.
